Housing Caseworker / Solicitor

Salary: £23,000 pa (plus professional weighting for solicitors)

Contract base hours of work: 37.5 hours per week.

Location: Derby and DHA office locations

DHA has become recognised as a well-established services delivery voluntary organisation in the area, delivering an array of valuable services for people facing social exclusion.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to provide specialist housing advice across DHA’s offices and project locations. You will provide advice, advocacy and representation to help prevent homelessness and housing difficulty. You should be a team player, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high standard of work.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to deal with people in difficult and pressurised situations. We are looking for a high achiever who has drive and ambition to progress in a forward thinking organisation.

You must have relevant experience of providing specialist housing advice and have knowledge of legislation, case law and social policy in the area of housing. A full training and induction programme will be provided.

You should be a team player, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high standard of work.

Debt Caseworker

Salary: £20,000 – £23,000 pa

Contract base hours of work: 37.5 hours per week.

We are currently seeking an experienced Debt Caseworker who can contribute to the success of an ambitious and well-established East Midland based Charity.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide specialist Debt advice across DHA’s offices and project locations and play their part in making a difference for people in need. You should be a team player, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high standard of work.

You will be required to provide a high quality specialist Debt advice service on all aspects of priority and non-priority debts. You will assist people to prepare financial statements, ensuring income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits. You will also be required to negotiate with all creditors and third parties, assist with applications for charitable funds, and prepare applications for bankruptcy and Debt Relief Orders where appropriate.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to deal with people in difficult and pressurised situations. We are looking for a high achiever who has drive and ambition to progress in a forward thinking organisation.

You must have relevant experience of providing specialist Debt advice and have knowledge of current legislation, case law, policies and procedures relating to debt.
